John F. Barbini, Ed. D, Trustee
 
Born and raised in Chicago, Trustee Barbini attended Northeastern Illinois University where he earned a bachelor’s degree.  He was a teacher and administrator in Schaumburg School District 54 for 24 years.  During that time, he earned a masters and doctorate degrees in educational administration for Northern Illinois University.  Trustee Barbini was honorably discharged from the Illinois Army National Guard with the rank of Staff Sergeant.
 
Trustee Barbini and his wife, Carol, and their four children moved to Wauconda in 1994 when he became superintendent of schools for Wauconda School District 118.  His two youngest children are graduates of Wauconda High School.  He served as superintendent of District 118 for 10 years, retiring in 2004.  Since retiring, Trustee Barbini has served as interim school superintendent at Grayslake High School District 127, North Chicago School District 187 and Mundelein High School District 120.  Most recently he served three years as interim principal at Grant Community High School District 124.
 
Currently Trustee Barbini works part time as a consultant for the Lake County Regional Office of Education.  He is responsible for school inspections, issuing construction permits and conducting compliance reviews of schools in Lake County.
 
Trustee Barbini was elected to the Wauconda Village Board in 2009 and re-elected in 2013.
