The President and Board of Trustees are the elected governing body of the Village. The Village President (more commonly referred to as the Mayor) chairs and runs the Village Board meetings. We invite you to participate in the meeting and ask that you comply with some simple procedures we have established.

Meeting Overview

There are two types of meetings in the Village of Wauconda. The first is a Regular Board Meeting, which is held on the first and third Tuesday of every month. This meeting consists of a consent agenda that allows for action on items discussed in previous meetings. The Village Clerk is responsible for calling the roll for those agenda items that require a vote by the Village Board.

Additionally, staff, Mayor and Trustee reports are given at this meeting. The second type of meeting is the Committee of the Whole Meeting, which is held on the second and fourth (and sometimes fifth) Tuesday of each month. These meetings are considered working sessions for the purpose of information sharing, discussion, and next steps on each agenda item. The Mayor generally introduces items from the agenda, and, with the support of staff, background information on the topic is provided to the Trustees. No Board action is taken at Committee of the Whole Meetings.
