WAUCONDA COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARDS

The Wauconda Community Service Awards were presented at this year’s Wauconda Fest by Mayor Mark F. Knigge. The three recipients were nominated by members of the community for their outstanding service and dedication to various organizations within our village.

The United Partnership for a Better Community screened the nominations and would like to congratulate the following recipients:

Abigail Baseley, a student at Transfiguration Grade School where she is a member of Student Council, the National Honor Society and an honor roll student. Abigail is a dedicated volunteer for school events and community fundraisers and also donates her time at two nursing homes in the area. As it says on her nomination form, Abigail puts “sunshine” in people’s lives.

Dave Bunge, is a Wauconda business owner, Treasurer of the Wauconda Area Chamber of Commerce, and serves on a number of local committees. His remodeling of several Main Street buildings has contributed greatly to the beauty and revitalization the historic business district. Dave is committed to helping Wauconda grow & prosper and his efforts will have a positive, long lasting effect.

Steve Diol, is a resident of Wauconda and has actively participated in projects that benefit Wauconda’s youth. He serves on several committees and is currently helping raise funds for a sprinkler system for the High School’s baseball and softball fields. Steve is an active member of the Wauconda Boosters, PTO, and the Park District Triathlon Committee. His dedication to the village is a great example of proactive community involvement.
