The Wauconda Park District is hosting the Village's annual 3rd of July Fireworks Display. They will have music and food available beginning at 6 p.m. and fireworks will begin at dusk. They are located at 600 N. Main St. in Wauconda. Rain date is July 4th.

* Kids Fishing Derby
Kids Fishing Derby

The Bangs Lake Advisory Committee is holding their 5th Annual Kids Fishing Derby on Sat., July 10, 2010, from 7 a.m. until noon on Bangs Lake. Registration at 7 a.m.; fishing fun starts at 8 a.m. No entry fee, lunch and prizes provided. For boys and girls ages 4 to 15 yrs. old. Register at the Park District Boat Launch next to Lindy's, 112 N. Main St., Wauconda, IL. Adults must accompany kids on a boat or on the shore. Bring your own fishing gear; live bait will be provided.

The Wauconda Plant and Garden Club along with the Lake Zurich Plant and Garden Club will have a Flower Show on Sat., July 10th and 11th from noon until 5 p.m. at the Wauconda American Legion, 515 S. Main St. in Wauconda.
