The Village of Wauconda surrounds beautiful Bangs Lake, a 306 acre recreational jewel that offers a variety of recreational activities such as swimming, fishing, and boating. Historic buildings and tree-lined streets offer an escape from the bustle of everyday life.

- Fremont Township
With easy access to U.S. Route 12 and IL Route 176, our residents benefit from corridors that support national retailers and independently owned businesses. Wauconda offers housing opportunities that range from unique tree-lined residential areas, to lake-front homes, to townhome living that offers easy access to recreational, shopping, and dining opportunities. Specialty shops and outstanding restaurants with lake front views make our community unique.
The Village is skirted by Lakewood Forest Preserve, which features a 9.25-mile section of the Millennium Trail winding north through Lakewood to Singing Hills Forest Preserve. This magnificent trail is open to bicyclists, hikers, equestrians, and cross-country skiers. Throughout the year, popular community festivals and events help create a strong sense of community pride and service.
