The Wauconda Police Department lobby houses both a Sharps Disposal Bin and a Pill Collection Unit. Anyone may drop off unwanted medication as well as needles that are placed in a sharps approved container. Please do not deposit any liquids in the collection unit or any loose needles into the disposal bin. The Wauconda Police Department DOES NOT provide individual sharps containers.
Businesses are prohibited from dropping off their sharps disposals.

To properly dispose of needles, do the following:
MUST use a approved disposal container.
The Biohazard Red Sharps Container you use must be H: 7 3/4in. x W 4in. x D 5 1/4in. or smaller.
Find a collection center for proper disposal, like the collection box located at the Wauconda Police Department.
DO NOT deposit any loose sharps into the collection bin. Sharps must be in an approved container.
